IE8, a nice improvement

Well, it’s now out in final release. If you are an Internet Explorer kind of user I would highly recommend downloading it as it is MUCH faster then IE7. The tabbing is improved and the speed increase is noticeable. Going between “Compatibility View” and Standards mode (default) is quite simple (and sometimes necessary to view a page properly). I still prefer Mozilla Firefox for it’s plug-ins (or Add-ons); however, I can honestly say this is a nice step forward for Internet Explorer. I guess with the competition heating up with different browsers MS finally woke up. You’ll have to manually download and install it at this time, the link is below.

Mom is out of surgery :)

So Mom’s (Elena’s) back surgery went well yesterday. As per usual it took her a while to come out of the anesthetic but at least she came through initial recovery without issue. When I went to see her she was in and out of sleep but doing well. Holding a conversation didn’t really work that well, it went something like this:
Me: “How are you feeling?”
Mom: “Oh, good. In a little bit of pain…

[several seconds later]
but otherwise I’m okay”
Me: “That’s good to hear.”

Mom: “I have an idea for our comic. Lenny (a cool little dog, I’ll try to have a picture up some time) was doing something really funny; now what was it…

So that’s what I want to do”
Me: “That’s great Mom; however, you didn’t actually tell me what Lenny did”
Mom: “Really??”
Me: “Yeah”
Mom: “Oh. I think I’m going to try the Jello.”
UDATE: You can find a picture of Lenny here
But she was at least smiling so it made me feel better knowing she was alright.
Anyway, best wishes to everyone.
