Accomplishing Nothing

Yesterday basically sucked. So I was trying to fix a dead TiVo and having upgraded my machines to relatively new technology I realized I didn’t have the correct amount of IDE ports. I basically tried everything to get Instant Cake and other tools to work with no luck. In the end I found an old P3 mobo that would work perfectly. The only catch being I don’t have any SDRAM anymore. Blarg. So after 8 hours of trial and error I had accomplished absolutely nothing.

To top it off I had moved my Windows 7 install on my dual core computer from the IDE drive it was on to my old Vista drive on my quad core box, which was SATA based. The problem there is when I removed the Vista drive it also took the boot manager that allowed me to go to Windows 7 on my quad core. Simple remedy; however, at midnight I was over the whole damn thing.

So, out of my weekend plans I will have maybe accomplished one task this weekend. I think it’s time to stoke up the grill and have a beer now.
