Okay, by who’s definition does increasing the federal deficit come close to the “promises” of decreasing the federal debt? Really, I’d like to know what the hell kind of “new math” these people learned. So now that we’ve gone ahead and increased our debt, and our congress is currently seeing fit to increase it even more with more Socialist “government supported” health care, why not just get rid of this crazy idea called money. I mean, we seem to be spending it like it doesn’t exist, why not just make it go away.
Bottom line, the only way to get back into the black (i.e. not going further into debt) is to increase taxes. Because if ANYONE is counting on the current officials to cut back on what they get, or spend, you’re in for a rough ride. Though, we could VOTE everyone out and get in a group of people that won’t waste time on Socialist ideals that don’t work in our economy. Seriously, people need to wake up and realize that the more you ask for something for “free” or “discounted” more gets taken away from those that actually provide.
Think of it like this, remember back in high school when the teacher was talking about socialism. Everybody in the class would get the same grade, no matter how hard or how lazy they worked. Yeah, NO ONE LIKED THE IDEA! You’d think “well the free loaders would like it as that means they get a C without doing anything” but your wrong. No one would get a C, they’d all get F’s. Where’s the incentive for the ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ students to do any work? They are going to provide for the whole class, so they slack off as well. Until human thought can get rid of greed (which won’t happen any time soon) Socialism is just a dream world. It looks good on paper but it just doesn’t work for innovation, AT ALL.
Again, some might say “well, then we’d get rid of these big corporations skating the tax laws”. No, just like the USSR money buys power. The government would just as corrupt, if not more. A big point of our founders reason for making a new* country was to get away from Government rule and oppression. The people need to pull their weight in order to keep it that way. As it is, we’ve been lulled into complacency and have forgotten our duty.
*In truth, the country was already here and the land founded by Native Americans. The early settlers just kind of plopped down where they sought fit.
