Bit of awesome

So this past Saturday my brother, one of my cousins, and I spent the day at Disneyland (well, we got there around noon and stayed until about 11ish). It was totally fun and relaxing. The little bit of awesome happened while waiting to get on the Mark Twain Riverboat. We were just standing there talking when the pilot dude came up and asked if we wanted to go up to the Pilot House. It was a totally different experience and way cool. We essentially got a pseudo personalized “tour” of the ride as well as all the changes that have been made in recent months (to the surroundings, the boat has never changed).

Couple of safety tips learned. Note: not everything listed hear was done by me. Donald is also included in a few of the below.

If your tall, pay attention to your surroundings. Hard, non-movable objects don’t feel good against your relatively soft head.
If you put your sunglasses on your hat, don’t take your hat off and let your glasses attempt to wage war on the ground, normally the ground wins the battle.
If your planning on going on Splash Mountain early, bring an extra pair of socks (or pack sandals and put those on before entering the ride).
If you are 6’5″ and above I would recommend against even attempting to get on Space Mountain, lest you desire knee pain along with not being able to go on the ride [learned from our prior trip].

You know, I’ve come to realize my digital life is almost essentially all run by Google. Email, phone (Android), favorite search engine, and now favorite web browser. Seriously, Google is taking over. Not that it’s terribly horrible (right now), as the only reason I’ve switched is due to the awesome performance and reliability (FF has let me down as of recently which is why I switched to Chrome). Just an odd revelation I had, you know the sort of thing no-one else really thinks about but somehow manifests itself into a thought in my brain. That’s all, thanks for letting me waste time out of your day (and life’s) which you will never get back.

It’s been a while

Yeah, so I’ve been busy playing a ‘new’ game (it’s an old game but new to my collection) inFAMOUS. Also, catching up on some much needed rest. So I haven’t really been posting anything, save for a few bits of awesome on Facebook.

I’m currently working on prepping a bunch of pictures of the cakes my Grandma Nielsen used to make and uploading them. I think the time and detail that went into these really shows. Those should be up within a few weeks. I’ll probably also be posting a couple of things my brother has done that are pretty cool as well. Anyway, that should be it as far as site updates goes.

Instability

You know, a thought just popped into my little head. Considering the instability we, as a country on a whole, still show at 234 years old how do we expect countries we’ve “rebuilt” to show stability after only a few years. Just a thought; there are really too many variables to calculate a true answer. Other than ultimate outcome of 42, HHGttG FTW!

Well that was disappointing

[rant]Yeah, so we lost to Ghana…again. What the hell, the two goals they scored were lame (on our part, brilliantly played by them), it was like our defenders went all ‘I think I’ll have a sandwich’. Not to say that I could play any better; however, that was a disappointing first half, and overtime; the second half seemed better. We seriously need to start giving more respect to soccer (or football if you like) players and step up our game. I demand domination in all sports![/rant]

On a happier note, our guys actually played well through most of the matches. The early parts of the game are our weakest; however, they didn’t pull any major dives (I’m looking at you Ivory Coast, even though you didn’t make it) or serious fouls. There’s always mistakes in games and we can learn from it and come back stronger in 4 years (assuming the global economies don’t collapse, or the end of the world, after 12/21/2012).
